Tony Barhoum is a Qanoun player, performer, composer, and music educator. He earned his
bachelor’s degree in music performance from Berklee College of Music in Boston as a recipient
of the pres?gious Presiden?al Scholarship, and later completed his master’s degree in
performance and produc?on at Berklee Valencia in Spain.
Tony began his teaching career in 2012 aFer gradua?ng from the conservatory, and has since
worked as an educator, ensemble leader, and private instructor. As a performer, he has shared
the stage with acclaimed ar?sts including grammy nominated oud virtuoso Simon Shaheen,
Grammy-winning cellist Eugene Friesen, and renowned singers George Wassouf and Fares
Karam, among others.
He has appeared on world-renowned stages such as the John F. Kennedy Center for the
Performing Arts (Washington, D.C.) and Capitol Records Studios (Los Angeles), and has
performed at major fes?vals including the Global Fes?val (New York), Zouk Mikael Interna?onal
Fes?val (Beirut), and the Fes?val of Sacred Music (Detroit). Tony is also ac?ve as a session
musician and currently performs with ensembles such as the Amman Chamber Orchestra in Jordan
